Product description
Synolite™ 0540-P-2 is an unsaturated polyester resin based on orthophthalic acid and standard glycols, dissolved in styrene. The resin is low viscous, pre-accelerated, promoted, thixotropic and contains a LSE additive.
The resin is particularly suited for No roll/ Low roll spray applications, e.g. for the backup of sanitary components and baths.
Major Applications
Synolite™ 0540-P-2 readily impregnates the reinforcing materials during lay-up and does not run off inclined laminates. The resin has been tailored for spraying applications with the advantage of low or no rolling (preferred glass fiber length 8 to 30 mm) for the manufacturing of thin laminates (<6 mm.).
Synolite™ 0540-P-2 has a medium reactivity, a fast through cure and relatively low peak exothermic build up.
Synolite™ 0540-P-2 is special developed for No roll/ Low roll spray applications. This resin is specially designed to add 100-120 parts of calcium carbonate.
Certifications and Approvals
Cured non-reinforced Synolite™ 0540-P-2 conforms to type 1110 (nearly conforms to type 1120) according to DIN 16 946/2 and is classified in group 0 according to DIN 18 820/1.
