Neomould® 6800-I-1
Unfilled zero shrinkage VE-based Tooling resin with elevated heat resistance (Hand lay-up)Product description
Neomould® 6800-I-1 tooling resin (which is based on Vinyl Ester) features zero shrinkage during cure and has a low peak exotherm (both in thin and thick layers). Consequently the resin is the ideal choice for making molds with great surface quality and dimensional predictability.
The high heat resistance translates into great mold durability. The resin is unfilled, preaccelerated and thixotropic.
Major applications
Neomould® 6800-I-1 was developed primarily to build molds using the conventional open mold process (spray up or hand lay up) at a room temperature. In some cases a vacuum molding process can be used to obtain high glass content using technical fabrics. The low viscosity of this product provides good wet out of the laminate and air removal.
Key benefits
Great dimensional predictability and surface quality
Suitable for thick laminate because of low peak exotherm and thixotropic behavior
Easy processing through excellent fiber wetting
Resin color allows for easy control of air bubbles during lamination.
Durable and long-lasting molds
