Components based on Atlac® 580 resin feature high mechanical strength and exhibit excellent resistance to chemicals and heat.
Because of its chemical nature, Atlac® 580 resin can be easily processed and converted into durable components.
The Atlac® 580 resin has been certified by Lloyd's Register and RINA.
Major applications
Atlac® 580 can be used in all fabrication methods, but is especially adapted to meet the requirements of filament winding, centrifugal casting and spray-up applications.
Atlac® 580 has excellent wet-out and de-aerating properties. It produces less foam when peroxides are added with less air inhibition, resulting in a tack free cured surface.
Due to its urethane incorporation, Atlac® 580 can be made thixotropic easily and shows an improved compatibility with aramid fiber reinforcements.
Atlac 580 has a low exotherm allowing thick sections to be fabricated.
Certifications and Approvals
Cured non-reinforced Atlac® 580 conforms to type 1310 according to DIN 16946/2. According to EN13121/1 Atlac® 580 is classified group 7B.
The resin is certified by Lloyd's Register as laminating resin for use in Marine applications.
