The Application of New Energy in Vehicles Promotes the Development of Power Battery Industry
China's carbon emission in transportation account for about 10% of its total, and that in automobiles 7.5%. The application of new energy in vehicles represent the main direction of the transformation and upgrading of the automotive industry and an important initiative to achieve the dual carbon targets.
The core component of new energy vehicles is the power battery. In recent years, new energy vehicle sales surge, injecting momentum for the power battery industry. Lithium iron phosphate is one of the mainstream technologies for lithium battery cathode materials, and is favored by more and more automobile enterprises for its high cost-effectiveness. Its market share in 2022 reaches 55.6%, surpassing that of ternary lithium. Driven by market demand, by 2022, the output and the price of lithium iron have kept growing, and new and planned production capacity expands rapidly.
Brunp Integrated Battery Material Industrial Park
Since October 2021, Ningde Times has announced that, it has invested in the construction of the Brunp Integrated Battery Materials Industrial Park in Yichang City, Hubei Province through its holding subsidiary Guangdong Brunp, including three projects, namely, the Brunp Times, the Brunp Recycling, and the Brunp Yihua, with a total investment of 32 billion yuan. It integrates such key links as "phosphorus ore - raw materials - precursor - cathode materials - battery recycling", and opens up the whole life cycle industry chain of battery. After the completion of the industrial park, it can provide battery cathode materials for 4 million new energy vehicles.
In December 2021, the project of Brunp Recycling started. Brunp Recycling is a waste lithium iron phosphate recycling production line, which is the key link of battery recycling. During the production process, safe and effective solutions for the storage of acid, alkali, corrosive wastewater and the corrosion prevention in exhaust gas absorption and scrubbing are important guarantees for the smooth operation of the project.
AOC Provides All-round Support
In the early stage of the project, the anticorrosive engineering contractors are not sure which resin to choose in terms of lithium recycling and other complex corrosive conditions. As a high-quality corrosion-resistant resins industry leader, AOC deeply involved in the program selections of a number of lithium projects corrosion engineering. Our technical team has accumulated a great deal of experience in technology. Despite the rampant Covid-19 pandemic, we actively communicated with the owner and the design unit for the project and recommended for the Brunp Recycling the preferred selection of corrosion-resistant resins and production program. The lining layer is made of Atlac 590z and Atlac 430, the high-performance vinyl resins. The structural layer is made of Palatal P65-901, the classic o-phenylene resin. In order to improve the aging resistance and improve its aesthetics, some of the tanks are coated with’ high-quality m-phenylene neopentyl glycol gelcoat. This not only ensures the quality of theproduct, but also maximizes the cost savings for Brunp.
During the construction, AOC commercial and technical team kept close communication with three major FRP construction units, namely Zhongfu Lianzhong, Jizhou Zhongyi and Shengli Xinda, and prioritized to provide technical, production and logistic support for the project, which ensured the smooth progress of the project.
In September 2022, Brunp Recycling, the Phase I of Brunp Integrated Project was successfully put into trial production. AOC commercial team paid a return visit to the owner, who praised that the quality of the FRP products in Phase I was excellent and hoped that AOC would continue to provide good technical support and services in the following Phase II and III.
