Open Mold Formulations

AOC's Atlac® high performance and Synolite® general purpose formulations protect boats from the bow to the stem, while offering superior processability on the shop floor. AOC provides a broad portfolio of products surpassing boat builders' mechanical, water absorption, and cosmetic requirements. Key solutions include:

• Skin coats for superior osmosis resistance
• Bulk general purpose, vinyl esters and premium formulations

Closed Mold Formulations

AOC’s Synolite® general purpose and Atlac® high-performance formulations provide the right solution for manufacturing small composites parts, hardtops, decks, and other closed mold applications. These products allow to design parts with high mechanical strength and stiffness, while taking advantage from the superior design flexibility of composites. Key solutions include:

• General purpose, vinyl esters and premium formulations for RTM and Vacuum Infusion
• Tooling resin systems suited for infusion processes

Improved sustainability with rPET-based resins

The Synolite™ 4600 series have been developed specifically for Marine applications, allowing boat manufacturers to further improve sustainability of their yachts, while not compromising on boat quality and mechanical performance. The formulations are Lloyd’s Register approved and available both in vacuum infusion and hand lay-up versions.

The GWP of resins based on rPET waste is 16 % lower than the GWP average of Ortho, DCPD, Iso, and Maleic resins, indicative of the positive effect of using recycled raw materials on the eco-footprint of resin manufacturing.
