Wastewater Odor Control
Corrosion-resistant Vipel K022-C is used to fabricate composite equipment that is essential to controlling odors from a new million gallon per day wastewater treatment facility. Belco Manufacturing, Belton, TX, USA, uses Vipel K022-C vinyl ester to filament wind cylindrical components and open mold elbows and flanges. Scrubber systems are designed to withstand exposure to hydrogen sulfide and low concentrations of sodium hydroxide. “We specified this Vipel K022-C because it processes well and meets engineering stringent requirements for flame retardance and resistance to a corrosive environment,” says Jeff Jones, Municipal Manager for Belco. “AOC technicians were very helpful in developing a formulation that targets our process parameters for a precise gel time and lower exotherm.”
